He lent us his cooler for the week and we spent a good while talking with him outside on a daily basis. The view is spectacular and the location perfect. Can't wait to visit again!'

'The form for this review indicated that we stayed in room 6 but we actually stayed in room 1.
Casa Robinson is located on a hill above the only town on the island (Dewey). There was a very nice view of the bay from our balcony. It was however a little noisy when the planes came in for a landing. This was not really a problem however, because they only fly during daylight hours. The hill is a little steep, so that parking is a little bit difficult. We had a jeep, and still felt a bit nervous pulling into and out of the steep driveway.
We liked the room. If you are looking for a luxury room, then this is probably not what you want, but if you are looking for a clean and functional accommodation, then I would recommend Casa Robinson. It was very spacious for 2 people, and could have accommodated 2 more easily. It was clean and bright. The room had a small kitchen, which was not spacious, but was adequate to do simple cooking. This was important to us because we are vegan, and restaurants are difficult for us.
Casa Robinson is owned and run by Mr. Robinson. He seemed like a pretty laid back and likable person.

'We stayed in rooms 3 and 4 and, although the rooms are small, they were comfortable and clean and had terrific view overlooking the bay and hills of Culebra. Mr Robinson was very friendly and hospitable in true Puerto Rican style. We especially loved the small gazebo with benches and hammock in front of the rooms to enjoy the breeze and peacefulness of the island. It's a short drive to town- and on a hill so prepare to rent a jeep or golf cart. '

The room was clean, peaceful, and had a great view. The wifi didn't really work in the room at all (it didn't reach far enough from his main room in the house), though it worked on the stairs next to the first-level rooms.'

I personal had a bad experience with the owner Mr. Robinson, a month ago I called to confirm my reservation, which according with him everything was fine for 5 people. I even arrived at 9:00 in the morning for my reservation which again everithing was fine, but I needed to wait until 3:00 PM for check in, which I was in agreement. When I arrived at 3:00 it was when he told that was a mistake. My reservation was for 2 people and we were 6 people. Why did he wait at 3:00??? Why did he tell that when I called a month ago???? His registration system is so old that he does not allow him to tell about your reservation. I recommend to use another type of system to look and check reservation. I have a diagnosis of PTS, so I was waiting for a relaxed weekend and what found was a huge dissapointment. I don't know if will return to that place. '

He also picked us up from the ferry, showed us around the town a little, and provided helpful recommendations for dining, entertainment, and activities. We would definitely visit again if we were planning a trip to culebra again.

'I stayed in room 5 and it was perfect ! Its not huge but certainly big enough for me. I stayed solo, but two would have been fine. It was very clean, with towels, a fridge, a coffee maker and microwave and satellite TV (I watched three movies - in English!) The best thing about it though was the view. There is a wraparound balcony outside of the rooms, and the view is fantastic. The owner, Mr. Robinson, is friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. I've already recommended this place to friends and coworkers as a great place to stay in Culebra. '

'The view from our unit (#1) at Casa Robinson was stunning. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the accomodation.
It was clean. The bed was adequate. The landlord was friendly. Parking space is difficult to use but is provided. It's very close to the airport.
I suggest that every innkeeper spend a few days in each of his or her rooms in order to identify what works and what doesn't, literally and in terms of ease of use, convenience and comfort. Doing so would reveal issues such as we encountered at Casa Robinson:
shutters which completely block the view from the room but which are not securely held open by the devices intended to do so; screens which are intended to provide security when the shutters are open but which require keys not provided to the guests; a deadbolt lock that cannot be used for the same reason; a push-button door lock that can be easily defeated; illumination which is provided provided solely by 4 wall or ceiling mounted bare bulbs; no reading lamp; a bed located against a wall for no apparent reason; a television set not visible from the bed; a beautiful balcony with an amazing view but nothing to sit on while there; a folding card table and two folding chairs for dining (in what is marketed as a family unit); tiny tiny stove and no counter space; two fold-down beds in the living area from only one of which the television can be seen; a coffee maker with no place to plug it in; no place whatsoever to hang clothing and other limitations which escape my memory after one week.

'We were really disappointed with this place. We were not assigned room 6, as this form indicates, but room 2, which now makes me wonder if the owner switched our room at the last minute. Room 2 is a disaster. It smells like a mouse died in the walls, the floor floods when it rains, the lighting in the bedroom consists of a single naked bulb, the only chair is an ancient lawn chair which is in poor condition, the bedspread and pillow covers look ancient and like they never get cleaned, the TV is old and outdated, there is no stopper in sink( a problem for contact lens wearers) and it is very small and has no view. The owner made no effort to see if we were comfortable ( and we were there three nights!). We were only there to sleep since we were so busy outside while on the island, otherwise we would have taken the time to request another room. But, the room we had should not be rented to anyone until it is completely renovated. We will not stay at this guest house again because we figure the owner should have known better than to rent a room in such condition and should have cared more about his guests.Other rooms looked better and some of them had nice views, but this was our experience with the room we were given. For something that costs more than $100 per night we expected much better.'

'Had a great stay! The room was exactly what was described on the website and had exactly what we needed - nothing more, nothing less. The room was immaculately clean - everything from the linen on the bed to the shower tiles. The full size refrigerator was always nice to have as keeping a little extra juice, soda, beer and snacks cold was always a plus. The location of the guesthouse was absolutely perfect - only a few minutes from any location on the island. Mr. Robinson is such a nice guy - always willing to do whatever was needed to make my stay perfect, but he was never intrusive - the perfect host! Casa Robinson is the only place I will ever stay on Culebra.'

'I was looking for a last minute reservartion and called several properties around the island. When I was contacted my Mr. Robinson he convinced me in 5 minutes that his place is where I should stay. Casa Robinson is a very nice and cozy property in top of the hill at 2 minutes from Culebra Airport. He did the extra mile to ensure I did have a very pleasant stay and he picked me from the airport and was very informative about the island. Property has around eight rooms with an excellent view of the sea. Rooms were clean and they have microwave and a small fridge in the room. Mr. Robinson is a great host and he is very knowleadgable. For sure I will stay there in a future visit. '
